Notice on“My Beautiful Encounter with China” Competition

Authorized by the Ministry of Education of China, the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchanges (CSCSE), will hold the 5th “My Beautiful Encounter with China” essay competition as well as a short-video competition with the same theme this year. With the hope of helping to enrich your experience in China and promote the cultural exchanges among international students from different parts of the world, we invite you to participate the above-mentioned exciting event:

为促进不同国家青年一代的人文交流，增进外国留学生知华、友华情怀和对中国发展变化的深刻认知，受教育部国际司委托，我中心拟继续开展 “我与中国的美丽邂逅”系列征文活动，并配套举行短视频大赛 。 欢迎广大来华留学生和留华毕业生积极参与。

International students in China, alumni graduated from Chinese universities, students and scholars from overseas sinology institutes.

在读来华留学生、留华毕业生校友、海外汉学院学生学者。


   

   

Form of participation|参赛形式


   

Participants may choose from either of the two forms (essay or short-video), or join both of them. Assessments of these two competitions are separate and independent.

征文和短视频两种方式，同学们可以任选一种参加，也可以同时参加。征文和短视频分开评审。


   

   

Requirements|参赛要求

Essay|征文:

(1) Theme can be decided by you. There is no restriction to the genre. The essay should be around 1000 Chinese characters.

We expect you to share with us your experiences and insights of China’s development and changes, and to imagine the bright future of economic, social, scientific and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.       You can tell the feelings and observations of your study, life and work in China, tell Chinese stories in a vivid and true way and describe China's economic development, scientific and technological achievements, natural scenery, urban features and cultural exchanges.      

(2) Language: The essay must be written in Chinese.

(3)  Title font: Simsun, size 14, centered, bold.

(4) Essay body: Simsun, size 12, 1.5 line spacing.


(1) 题目自拟，体裁不限，篇幅1000字左右。

大赛鼓励来华留学生对中国经验和中国发展进行积极地思考与探讨，畅想中外在经济、社会、科技、人文交流等方面的美好未来。以来华留学生自身视角讲述在中国学习、生活、工作的经历与感悟，用文字讲述生动真实的中国故事，描绘中国的经济发展、科技成果、自然风光、城市面貌、人文交往等。

(2) 语言要求：必须使用中文

(3) 题目字体：宋体，4号字，居中，加粗

(4) 正文字体：宋体，小4号字，1.5倍行距


Short-Video|短视频:

Participation Method I:

(1)Please submit your video works to CSCSE, and we will publish them on relevant media platforms after careful selection.

  With "My Campus" as the subject, you can record your study, life and travel experiences in China from the eyes of an overseas student, tell vivid and true Chinese stories and express the most touching feelings for China through the lens.

(2) Language: Chinese language recommended. If you use English, please add Chinese subtitles.

(3) Video Duration: 1-6 minutes；Video Format: MP4.


参赛方式一：

(1)以“我的校园”为主题，从来华留学生视角记录自己在中国学习、生活、旅行中的所知所见，讲述生动真实的中国故事，抒发感人至深的中国情怀。

(2) 语言要求：建议使用中文，如使用英文，请配备中文字幕；

(3) 视频时长：1-6分钟；视频格式：MP4;


Participation Method II:

International students participate the competition by uploading their short videos online through their DouYin accounts. The platform competition will start in mid-June and last until August, whose themes will be focused on "delicious food," "beautiful scenery” and "good things.” The video duration will not be limited. The detailed competition arrangement will be released through the official WeChat account of StudyinChina (ID:istudyinchina) and our website : www.studyinchina.edu.cn.


参赛方式二：

来华留学生通过抖音账号参加平台赛，平台赛拟于6月中旬启动，6月-8月在抖音举行，主题涉及“美食”、“美景”、“好物”等，视频时长不限，具体赛制安排将通过“留学中国StudyinChina”微信公众号（ID:istudyinchina）及留学中国网（www.studyinchina.edu.cn）发布。  


     

Deadline

July 11th, 2021 for essay competition; July18th, 2021 for short-video contest(Participation Method I). Please send your works to the international office of your university before the corresponding deadline with your name, nationality, program and contact information (email and cell phone number). If you are an individual participant, e.g. alumnus, please send your work to us directly (essay@istudyinchina.org).

*For oversized videos, a BaiDuYun link is recommended.
